WHO IS SYNCON HOMES?
After reading about the many construction defects
built into our home, it begs the question of who is really responsible for
building such a product? "Syncon Homes" is just the name
of a company. The true people responsible would be the company
officers, owners, license holders, and/or decision makers that make-up the
organization. As in any responsible company, the credit for their triumphs and the responsibility for
their failures
ultimately lies with them.
Who are the
responsible people at Syncon Homes?
The top people can be identified through the
Nevada State Contractors Board. It's a public information source
that names the company officers and provides other public information about them.
These are the people who are ultimately responsible for the condition of all products they
produce, the conduct of their employees, and their promises to prospective
Syncon home buyers.
If you CLICK
HERE, you
will find the Nevada Contractors Licensing
Board. Just search for Syncon by name. In summary, the website
reports that the management of Syncon Homes
consists of the following people:
-
LEMKE,
MICHAEL JOHN, President
-
HANLY,
LEO A. ("Chip"), Chairman
of the Board
-
HANLY,
DONALD IRVING, Vice
President
-
HANLY,
BRIAN LEO, Vice
President
These are the
people who built our house. They may not have hammered a single nail
in our home, but they are the people who are ultimately responsible for
each and every defect we've listed. To paraphrase President Harry S.
Truman, "The Buck Stops
with Them."
What they claim
They are also the
people who applaud on their website their "commitment to quality"
and purpose of delivering the "highest levels of quality,"
their "passion for customer care" to "ensure the
satisfaction of (their) homebuyers," and their "pride"
in "building superior homes." These are the
promises they make to each and every prospective buyer and ultimate
homeowner, including us.
What they did
However, the evidence we've presented
points only to a lack of quality in our house and to a "passion for
customer care" that has been entirely lacking. They failed to
make true their promises in the house they built for us.
As for their
"pride" in "building superior homes:"
-
Who could be proud of having built our
house?
-
Who could be proud of saddling their homebuyer with serious
construction defects?
-
Who
could be proud of violating the law, the building code?
-
Who
could be proud of ignoring component installation
instructions?
-
Who could be proud of leaving their homebuyer
with a legacy of poor workmanship, increased maintenance costs, and
premature deterioration of many components?
-
Who
could be proud of endangering the health and safety of their
homebuyers?
-
Who could be proud of
offering to fix defects cheaply, rather than fixing them right?
-
Is our home something to
feel proud about?
-
Is this a "superior
home," as they claim?
We don't think it is.
Shame on them!
Instead of pride,
we believe the appropriate emotion should be shame!
Each of the men listed as officers of Syncon Homes should be;
-
Ashamed
of their lack of workmanship;
-
Ashamed for passing the
defects to their homebuyer;
-
Ashamed of not practicing the
ideals they laud throughout their website;
-
Ashamed
of lying to us; and
-
Ashamed
for each and every item listed above!
Shame is the emotion that we feel is appropriate for
each and every
officer of Syncon Homes, since they are
the individuals on whom the responsibility for the condition of our home ultimately falls.
They have an
opportunity
They now have the
opportunity to say to us that they've made a mistake and to take
responsibility for their defects and actions, which we could understand. They
have the opportunity to make things right. They know what to do to
set things right.
Their contrition
will do nothing to erase the trials we have experienced since purchasing
our defective Syncon Home, but it may go far towards resolving similar
problems for others in the future. That would be the best thing to
happen and the ethical thing to happen. It's something we can hope will happen.
